Goals are essential part of the successful business. Without goals, the company drifts along reacting to today-to-day
situations without direction. The result: confusion, inefficiency, excessive costs and reduction of profits. Instead of setting the Company up for failure, set the Company up for success.
Implement the goal process.
Goals need to
be specific if we have any chance of accomplishing them. The goal process includes an action plan that maps out how to achieve
the target goal with performance measurements that defines how to evaluate process towards achievement.
For example, if your goal is to loose weight, you set a concise target to be achieved within a specific period
of time – to loose ten pounds within four weeks. To accomplish the weight loss you decide to cut out all sugar and pasta foods, and take a twenty
minute morning walk each day. Every day you can measure results by checking your weight. If you are not getting the results
you want, then you can take corrective action to ensure you reach your target weight within the stated time period.
For
a business, the goal process is the same.
Using Goals is a three phase process:

§ Define an action plan to achieve Results
§ Measure
progress towards achieving Results Target
Result + Action + Progress Tracking = Success
